Membership Benefits

Referral Service:  Many calls are received daily at the local chamber office asking about all aspects of visiting or living in our area.  The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce only gives out the names of our membership.  

Business Exposure:  Members may bring brochures advertising their business to the Chamber office for newcomers. Don’t miss the chance to be in our magazine that we will include in visitor and prospective resident packets. These packets are mailed out all over the United States.

Internet Presence:  Members of the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce who provide us with their internet address will be automatically linked through the Chamber site on www.greenville-alabama.com.  There is no charge for this service and it has proven to be quite a “hit” for those members who are linked.

Training Sessions/Seminars:  A recent survey indicated that our membership is interested in information on marketing, displays, the Internet, customer service and tourism. We provide sessions dealing with the latest data on these topics.

Weekly Chamber Email Update: All members receive the weekly chamber update keeping them up to date on happenings of the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce and our community.  We will include your business happenings; which gives our members the chance to learn more about your company.

Business After Hours:  These are member-only social events held at local businesses after work to give attendees an opportunity to network with other area people who want Greenville to be the best it can be.  

Member2Member: The GACOC has started a new program called “Member to Member,” designed for our members to gain insight into businesses and organizations in our community. This is your opportunity to network with others and get a better understanding of what is happening around you.

Committee Involvement:  Do you like to get involved? The Chamber is the place to be.  Join a committee and help out with fun and rewarding activities while connecting with others.  Some of our committees are Hospitality, Business Development and Governmental Relations. Get involved; join your Chamber!

 

Fall Supper:  A Chamber annual event!!  The community is invited to come enjoy a meal together, anything from seafood to steak.   Held in the fall, this event draws a crowd who continue to “come back for more”. Door prizes are awarded! Live music, food and drink are a part of the fare.

 

Celebrate America:  Celebrate America is hosted by the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by the City of Greenville, Butler County Commission, and local businesses.  This community event includes concessions, games for the kids, musical entertainment, and a fabulous fireworks show.  “Celebrate America” is always on or within the week of the Fourth of July.  

 

Trick or Treat on Commerce Street: Held on Halloween in Downtown Greenville from the Chamber Depot to the Butler County Courthouse.  Businesses and individuals line the street to give out candy to the little ghosts and goblins. Join us for a “spooky” evening downtown.

 

Christmas Parade:  An annual event for many years, Santa arrives in Greenville via fire truck to start our holiday season.  Local organizations participate each year.  Be sure to pick up your parade application at the Chamber office. 

 

Chamber Banquet: The GACOC Chamber Banquet is held the third Thursday night in February.  It is an annual event for Chamber members and guests.  The State of the City Address is given by the Mayor along with the prestigious Business Leader Award.  Attendees enjoy a wonderful meal and guest speaker.
